On November 19, 2025, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Science organized an educational awareness workshop titled: “Fundamentals of Information Technology and the Use of Digital Tools for Working Women.” The session was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Nabeel Sadiq and Assistant Lecturer Ali Mahmoud.
The workshop highlighted the vital role that digital skills play in enhancing the efficiency of working women and strengthening their ability to meet the demands of the modern labor market. It emphasized that mastering the basics of information technology is a cornerstone of professional empowerment, serving as a gateway to greater opportunities for growth and innovation.
Participants were introduced to a range of digital tools that improve productivity, including time management applications, Microsoft Office programs, and online platforms that support remote learning and work.
The workshop also addressed the institutional framework that encourages digital transformation, underscoring the role of universities, ministries, and organizations in providing necessary training and fostering a supportive learning environment. Key challenges facing women in the digital field were discussed, such as limited access to technological resources, insufficient training opportunities, and cultural barriers that restrict women’s engagement in technology-related fields.
The event concluded with practical recommendations aimed at promoting a culture of effective use of modern technologies, encouraging partnerships between the public and private sectors to provide sustainable training programs, and building an inclusive digital environment that enables working women to expand their skills and achieve a stronger, more influential professional presence.
