Student Guidelines

Student Disciplinary Regulations in the Institutions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research No. 160 of 2007, as amended by Regulation No. 169 of 2018

       Article(1)

   Students shall adhere to the following:

  • Compliance with Laws and Regulations:
    Abide by all laws, internal regulations, instructions, and directives issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its affiliated institutions (universities, authorities, colleges, and institutes).
  • Respect for Religious Beliefs and National Unity:
    Refrain from offending religious beliefs, national unity, or national and ethnic sentiments, and avoid deliberately inciting sectarian, ethnic, or religious discord, whether by word or deed.
  • Protection of Institutional Reputation:
    Avoid any statement or action, whether inside or outside the institution, that may harm the reputation of the Ministry or its institutions.
  • Observance of Academic Conduct:
    Refrain from all conduct inconsistent with proper university behavior, including maintaining a high level of discipline and demonstrating respect toward the administration, faculty members, staff, and the principles of collegiality and cooperation among students. 
  • Exemplary and Disciplined Behavior:
    Maintain upright and disciplined conduct that positively reflects upon the student in matters of employment and nomination for scholarships and academic fellowships.
  • Preservation of Order on Campus:
    Abstain from any act that may disrupt order, tranquility, or stability within the university campus (college or institute), including participation in, incitement of, or concealment of such acts.
  • Safeguarding Institutional Property and Academic Order:
    Preserve study materials and the property of the university, authority, college, or institute, and ensure the proper conduct of academic activities while maintaining the discipline required for lectures and seminars.
  • Non-Disruption of Campus Activities:
    Refrain from any conduct that may interfere with academic or extracurricular activities held within the university campus (college or institute).
  • Adherence to Prescribed Dress Code:
    Comply with the officially approved student uniform, taking into consideration the specific regulations of each university or authority.
  • Avoidance of Divisive Activities:
    Refrain from promoting organizations or activities that may deepen divisions or involve any form of political, religious, or social discrimination.
  • Prohibition of Political Promotion:
    Avoid advocating for or promoting any political party, organization, ethnic, national, or sectarian group, whether through displaying posters, banners, photographs, or organizing seminars.
  • Restriction on Partisan or Sectarian Events:
    Do not invite partisan figures to deliver lectures or organize political or religious promotional events within the university campus, in order to preserve national unity.
  • Responsible Use of Electronic Devices:
    Refrain from using mobile phones, personal computers, or other devices in a manner that undermines collegial relationships or public decorum within the campus.
  • Prohibition of Attendance under Intoxication:
    Do not attend the college or institute while under the influence of alcohol or narcotic substances.
