The Dean of the College of Science participated as a member of the committees for the defense of a PhD dissertation.

Assistant Professor Dr. Shaimaa Hussein Nofal, Dean of the College of Science at University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa, participated as a member of the doctoral dissertation defense committee in Physics for the candidate Saif Mohammed Nima Hantoush. The defense was held at the College of Science, Department of Physics, at University of Babylon. The dissertation was entitled:“Radiation Shielding and Antibacterial Activity of a Chitosan/Polyvinyl Alcohol Blend Modified with Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles.” Dr. Shaimaa Hussein Nofal’s participation reflected a collaborative scientific approach and academic cooperation between the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa and the University of Babylon. Her presence contributed to enriching the discussion and providing specialized insights in the field of physics. The scientific committee comprised a distinguished group of professors specializing in physics. The College of Science at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa was represented by Assistant Professor Dr. Shaimaa Hussein Nofal, highlighting the college’s notable academic presence in national scholarly forums. This participation forms part of the ongoing efforts of the College of Science at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa to strengthen its scientific and research role and to reinforce its presence within the higher education and advanced research environment in Iraq.

 📢 Scientific Engagement – University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa / College of Science As part of the College of Science’s ongoing efforts to promote scientific research and foster an enriching academic environment, Assistant Professor Dr. Shaimaa Hussein Noufal, Dean of the College, participated as a committee member in the master's thesis defense of student Hiba Salman Abdul-Salam. Her thesis was entitled: "Enhancement of Some Physical Characteristics of Metal Oxides Nanoparticles Doped Organic Materials and Applications" 🎓 The research explored the preparation of two nanocomposites—(PS/SiO₂-In₂O₃) and (PS/SiO₂-CeO₂)—using the solution casting method. Various nanoparticle concentrations were studied to evaluate their structural, optical, and electrical properties, with potential applications in gamma radiation shielding and antimicrobial fields. 🌟 Dr. Shaimaa Hussein Noufal contributed valuable insights and constructive critique during the defense session. Her participation reflected her continued commitment to elevating the research standards of postgraduate students and supporting the college’s vision for innovative and applied scientific advancement. 🔍 The study revealed key findings, including: Homogeneous distribution of nanoparticles within the polymer without chemical interaction, as confirmed by FTIR spectra. Enhanced absorption, refractive index, and optical conductivity with increased nanoparticle concentration, along with decreased transmittance and indirect energy gap. Improved electrical properties and increased gamma attenuation coefficients. Notable antibacterial activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. This academic engagement highlights the College of Science’s dedication to supporting groundbreaking research under the guidance of distinguished faculty members—foremost among them, Dean Dr. Shaimaa Hussein Noufal, who continues to drive forward scientific excellence and institutional development.  

Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Mohammed Ali participated as a committee member in a master’s thesis defense at the University of Karbala.

Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Mohammed Ali, Head of the Department of Information Technology at University of Warith Al‑Anbiyaa, participated as a member of the master’s thesis defense committee in Information Technology for the student Sabreen Ghanem Khalifa. The defense was held at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology at University of Karbala. The College of Computer Science and Information Technology discussed the master’s thesis entitled “Generating Facial Expressions Images Using Generative Adversarial Networks.” The defense took place at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, 15 February 2026, in Al-Khwarizmi Hall at the Deanship of the College, in the presence of the Dean, Dr. Mowaffaq Kadhim Al‑Hassnawi, along with a number of researchers and faculty members. The examination committee consisted of Dr. Huda Abdul Ali Abdul Baqi (Mustansiriyah University / College of Science) as Chair; Dr. Ilham Mohammed Thabit (University of Karbala / College of Computer Science and Information Technology) as Member; Dr. Haider Mohammed Ali (University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa / College of Computer Science and Information Technology) as Member; and Dr. Ashwan Anwar Abdulmunem (University of Karbala / College of Computer Science and Information Technology) as Member and Supervisor. The defense concluded successfully, and the candidate, Sabreen Ghanem Khalifa, was awarded the Master’s degree.
