Scientific and cultural seminar to promote national awareness and thought among students
Under the patronage of the President of Warith Al-Anbiya University (peace be upon him), Professor Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hayawi, and under the supervision and in the presence of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Saadoun Al-Ghazi, the College of Medicine held a scientific seminar entitled "Aspects of the Practices of the Deposed Ba'ath Party." The seminar featured presentations by Professor Dr. Saad Al-Din Hashem Al-Banna, Professor Dr. Ahmed Yaqoub Ibrahim, and Dr. Sabah Al-Jubouri, and took place on Tuesday morning, October 21, 2025, in the workshops and training hall of the Al-Naeem Building.
The seminar began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah for the souls of Iraq's righteous martyrs, followed by the playing of the Iraqi national anthem, marking the start of the event. A number of professors, students, and those interested in historical and national affairs were in attendance.
The seminar aimed to shed light on the repressive practices and violations committed by the deposed Ba'athist regime and the profound negative impact these practices had on Iraqi society. It also emphasized the importance of educating new generations about the history of that period to instill the values of freedom, justice, and national belonging. This seminar is part of a series of scientific and cultural activities organized by the College of Medicine at Warith Al-Anbiya University (peace be upon him) to promote national awareness and thought among students, and to draw lessons and morals from history to build a more conscious and just future.
