A lecture on the negative impact of social media in light of Islamic values The College of Medicine at Warith Al-Anbiya University (peace be upon him) organized a lecture entitled “The Negative Impact of Social Media on the Individual and Society in Light of Islamic Values,” delivered by Sabah Al-Jubouri and Marwa Saad Al-Alaq. The lecture aimed to raise awareness among students and the academic community about the social and psychological risks of social media, and to promote Islamic values ​​in dealing with these platforms, thus contributing to building a more conscious and civilized society. The Dean of the College of Medicine emphasized the importance of organizing such educational initiatives that integrate academic knowledge with ethical and religious values, thereby enhancing student behavior and strengthening their role in society.

The College of Medicine continues its scientific activities with a workshop on genetic changes in diabetic patients. The College of Medicine at Warith Al-Anbiya University, in cooperation with the Iraqi Syndicate for Training and Development, held a scientific workshop entitled "Genetic Mutations in Type 1 Diabetes among Iraqi Patients." The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Ali Saadoun Al-Ghazi, along with a number of faculty members, staff, and students. Dr. Farah Ali Mahdi Al-Dabbagh presented the workshop, discussing the latest scientific findings related to genetic mutations affecting type 1 diabetes in Iraqi patients. She also reviewed research and applied aspects that contribute to understanding the mechanisms of the disease and improving diagnostic and treatment methods. This workshop is part of the college's efforts to support scientific research and enhance medical awareness about chronic and genetic diseases, in line with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's directives to develop the medical field and serve the community.

Scientific seminar on the occasion of World Diabetes Day

The College of Medicine at Warith Al-Anbiya University Organizes a Scientific Symposium on World Diabetes Day Under the slogan “Together for a Diabetes-Aware Society,” the College of Medicine at Warith Al-Anbiya University (peace be upon him) hosted a specialized scientific symposium on Friday, November 14, 2025. The symposium was organized by the Iraqi Society of Medical Pathologists in cooperation with the Al-Hassan Center for Endocrinology and Diabetes, and sponsored by Al-Riyada Al-Arabiya Company. It featured the participation of professors and researchers specializing in various scientific centers both within and outside Iraq. The symposium reflected the college's commitment to promoting community health awareness and supporting scientific and medical efforts in combating diabetes, one of the most widespread diseases globally. The symposium was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Saadoun Al-Ghazi, Dean of the College of Medicine, who emphasized in his opening remarks the vital role of academic institutions in disseminating health education and encouraging specialized scientific research. The symposium was held across two scientific sessions that addressed precise and advanced topics in diabetes care. These included discussions on food dosage adjustment strategies using the DAFNE methodology, the latest advanced methods for treating TSH-resistant hypothyroidism, and research insights into the future of beta cells in type 1 diabetes, exploring whether they are dormant or regenerative. The lectures also covered the laboratory applications of HPLC technology for precise analysis, as well as discussions on hormone tests such as macroprolactin, a reassessment of the accuracy and interpretation of HbA1c, and advanced studies on thyroid function tests in pregnant women and mixed types of diabetes (combining type 1 and type 2). Furthermore, the latest global devices used in evaluating diabetes tests were showcased, including the advanced Lifotronic devices for HbA1c analysis. The symposium concluded with the distribution of participation certificates and a group photo, reflecting the College of Medicine's commitment to scientific events that enrich medical knowledge and support its mission of serving the community and advancing specialized academic research.

Seminars on the power of words, the language of dialogue, and first aid

The College of Medicine continues its development programs with seminars on the power of words, the language of dialogue, and first aid. Under the patronage of the President of Warith Al-Anbiya University, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jiyawi, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Saadoun Al-Ghazi, and in cooperation with the Iraqi Syndicate for Development and Training, the College of Medicine held three scientific development seminars aimed at enhancing academic and humanitarian awareness among students and faculty members. These seminars took place on Tuesday morning, October 28, 2025, in the workshops and training hall in the Al-Naeem Building. The seminars began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah for the souls of Iraq's martyrs, followed by the playing of the Iraqi national anthem amidst an atmosphere of national and academic pride and belonging. The seminars addressed several topics, focusing on the power of words, situational awareness, the language of dialogue, and the importance of constructive communication in university and professional life. Additionally, a first aid seminar included practical demonstrations and field applications on how to handle emergency situations before the arrival of medical personnel. The seminars were presented by Dr. Sabah Al-Jubouri, Professor Mustafa Al-Tai, Professor Ali Al-Araji, and Professor [Name Missing]. Tasneem Al-Haddad, who enriched the audience with her knowledge and field experience, was among the speakers. At the conclusion of the events, the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Saadoun Al-Ghazi, distributed certificates of appreciation to the lecturers in recognition of their distinguished efforts in making these seminars a success. These events are part of the vision of the College of Medicine at Warith Al-Anbiya University (peace be upon him), which aims to build a conscious generation that combines knowledge, skill, and refined human conduct.
