As part of its academic and social role in fostering moderation and intellectual awareness, the Faculty of Media at Warith Al-Anbiya University (PBUH) organized a specialized scientific seminar titled "Marketing Communication in Combating Violent Extremism Conducive to Terrorism," in celebration of the International Day for Preventing Extremeism.
The seminar witnessed a significant presence of faculty members, researchers, and students, alongside elite experts in academic and security affairs. The event highlighted the importance of utilizing marketing and media communication tools to counter extremist narratives, especially given the rapid digital transformations and the proliferation of online platforms that influence youth attitudes and behaviors.
The seminar was supervised by Professor Dr. Hussein Kashkool and moderated by Assistant Lecturer Hazem Fadel, Head of the Advertising and Digital Marketing Communication Department.
The session hosted National Security Researcher, Mr. Hussein Al-Atrakchi, who delivered an in-depth lecture on the security and intellectual dimensions of extremism. He emphasized the necessity of integration between academic and security institutions to build a proactive preventive discourse that protects society from extremist ideologies.
Furthermore, Mr. Karrar Ali Al-Ghazawi, Professor of Marketing and Strategic Management at the Faculty of Administration and Economics, contributed a lecture focusing on the strategic planning of marketing communication. He stressed the need to align communication messages with a precise analysis of the target audience to ensure the effectiveness of preventive campaigns.
The seminar concluded with key recommendations, including strengthening partnerships between academic, security, and media institutions, developing specialized curricula in preventive marketing communication, and optimizing the use of digital platforms to promote tolerance and combat hate speech and extremism.
